You Can Become Great By Knowing What, And Greater By Learning How, But You Become Greatest By Discovering Why. At The Core of The Why Is Your Divine Design
You Can Become Great by Chance, Greater By Choice, But You Become Greatest By Design
You're already great, but you might be being fooled into thinking you're not, because you're copying someone else with a completely different design for greatness than you.
Even when you succeed at someone else's game, have you noticed that the victory feels hollow? There's a reason!
I am Rebecca Bardess, Founder of Indiepreneur Academy, and I've been studying why people (and animals) do what they do since I was a child.
My grandmother was a contemporary of Freud and knew his daughter, Anna. She pioneered work into deep trauma, and severe Cluster B type traits, in children and young adults.
When Gran said she was so happy that I had inherited her 'gift' it felt too big of a deal to tell anyone. She was a literal legend about whom national newspapers wrote when she died.
Also, I didn't want to walk in anyone's footsteps, because I knew I had a distinct calling, and that it would differ from hers. But she understood that.
“History doesn't repeat itself, but it often rhymes”
– Mark Twain.
When I talked about my concerns with her as a teenager whose accurate visions and intuition were troubling me, she reassured me that it was not a mental health issue, and told me that I have deep and accurate insight, but that most people wouldn't feel comfortable hearing what I know.
I now know she was right, for reasons I'll give later. If you are ready for deep truths, keep reading.
You came to this planet with your very own manual, and nobody gave it to you, so how are you meant to decipher a code you've never even seen?
While you may have made it 2, 4, or more decades without cracking the code on YOU, why would you continue to stumble in the dark when there's such an easy way to switch on a torch and see your right path?
I would like to hand you your operating manual, and the torch through The Forest of Confusion and Overwhelm. But first, you must make a decision.
Are you ready to step into YOUR greatness, rather than continually trying to step into somebody else's, and failing every time?
Failing Doesn't Make You A Failure. Failing To Rise When You Fall Does
What I wrote at the end of the last paragraph may have irked you if you feel as if you're failing in some part of your life, but keep reading. As Tony Robbins says:
"God's delays are not God's denials."
It may be that you are in exactly the right place, at exactly the right time, and every failure is your Creator preparing you for the massive win that is to come. But if that's the case, you'll see it clearly in your Human Design Report.
At this point, you're in one of three states of mind:
- This is FASCINATING. Where's the button? Tell me more about why I am the way that I am!
- This is WEIRD. But it's kind of intriguing too. Maybe I should give this a go. It'll either work to help me transform my future in ways I can't possibly imagine without it, or I'll know more about myself. Either way, I win.
- This is SCARY! Red flags. This is too spiritual/woo-woo/Christian and I'm too logical/ suspicious/ atheist for this!
Allow me to address these one by one:
This is fascinating:
Yay! I'm stoked to start working with you on this adventure to find all that buried treasure within you. This isn't therapy. We aren't going to be looking for what's 'wrong' with you. We're going to be looking for what's absolutely RIGHT with you. And some of it might even be things you've been told are wrong in the past, because out of context things can look wrong, but when you see the beautiful tapestry that each stitch is a part of, you'll understand that God makes no mistakes, or that you have evolved exactly as the Universe intended you to do to bring the very best wisdom to the planet to help us all.
Also, it's important to know that just as a spiritual text is a wonderful map to discover the divine territory it describes, but is not in itself the territory, so this is a wonderful compass to help you see how you can best navigate the you that is following that map, but it is not the territory itself. It does not seek to remove your freewill, and nor do I in any of my coaching.
It is a fundamental principle of my coaching that you always have freewill, and you have every right to think: "That was a fascinating insight, but I think I'll go this way instead." So this in no way limits you. It just gives you a torch and a compass for your future explorations.
This is weird:
Anything that is not common is weird. The word is derived from the Old English wyrd, meaning destiny. It later went on to mean having the power to control destiny. That's when people started getting scared of it. Because having the power to control destiny is pretty powerful. But we all have that power, and we all use it.
When you decide to go to work instead of staying in bed, aren't you also exercising the power to control your destiny?
Any time you act towards a greater vision, whether by making healthy food choices, or taking the dog for a walk, you're technically being 'weird'.
Looking at a sunset and feeling a sense of deeper connection with everything is 'weird'. You plan to stop doing that?
If you wish to live a life of total randomness, thrown around by the wills of those strong enough to be brave enough to be seen as weird, then stay basic and let them decide your destiny. That's what most people do. It's that Matrix thing everyone talks about.
If you're not a fan of that though it might be time to be a little weird and break out of what a weird ancestor of mine referred to as mind forg'd manacles.
This is Scary:
Breathe. The world is scary.
As I said above, I'm big on freewill. I absolutely am not here to 'make' you do anything. I will share with you the wisdom I've attained through multiple near death experiences and encounters with God if you want to hear them, or I'll just guide you through the Human Design Chart if you're freaked out by spirituality.
The Human Design System is not a belief system.
It doesn't require that you believe in anything, or that you believe in me.
It is not stories or philosophy.
It is a concrete map to the nature of being—a logical way we can see ourselves.
Just the simple mechanics is enough to make a vast difference in somebody's life.
~ Ra Uru Hu Founder of The Human Design System
For my part, I've no interest in converting anyone from or to anything. That isn't the path that my Creator has set for me, and I've chosen to follow my path.
And in my experience when you know you're on the right path for you, people generally respect that. It's only people who are still trying to convince themselves about their own faith that will hate on you for yours.
Otherwise, they'll seek to be an example and leave it up to you whether you follow that or not.
I've even had situations where senior people from other faiths have sought to honour me on the basis of the fact that they have experienced my skills or could see my aura, and that's led to some weird experiences, like being knighted in Stonehenge, by the Head of The Druids, while wearing a massive cross. I'm not sure that's happened to anyone else. But I refused to be honoured in a way that excluded Christ.
I was assured that Christ was welcome in Stonehenge any time, and if all the leaders of all the faiths could get together in a circle and share what united them rather than divided them we may have peace on earth by lunchtime.
Whatever your faith, or if you're atheist, I'm happy to work with you. It's just helpful to know in advance so I can throw a babelfish in my ear and give you the best translation for you.
Why this is important work for me:
I had two significant near death experiences: one when I was 11, and one in 2020.
In the first, I was in a car crash that left me in a coma for 3 days. While in the coma, I remember leaving my body and floating through the hospital wards, in no pain, but fully aware of the details of the lives and deaths of everyone in the wards. I did not feel emotionally connected to the information. It was more like I was witnessing it. Seeing it as interesting. Not distressed by any of it. Understanding this is such a small part of existence.
Then I travelled towards what I believe was Heaven. Twice. In what I believe was the first time, I became scared that my brother would be harmed by my death and so I asked if I could return.
I was allowed to come back.
Then I returned, or maybe I went straight there when I died on the roadside and asking to be brought back happened second. I'm not sure of the order, but on one of the journeys I arrived there and was put into an educational program that went on for around 7 years. I was taught by angels. They still show up in my dreams 40 years on. But when I was sent back, I was sent back with amnesia about what I'd been taught, except three pieces of knowledge:
- This is not all there is.
- I am not allowed to remember what I was taught all at once in my physical form as it would be too much for me, but I will remember the lessons through life (this has happened).
- Gratitude. I wasn't sure what the gratitude was for. It wasn't for my life being saved, because the doctors weren't able to do anything for me, it was more profound than that. More profound than just this life. It was a deep and profound gratitude that I inhabit any time I am alone and silent. It is at the core of the joy that I refer to as my 'Weeble point' to which I always wobble back.
There is much more to this story, but the upshot of that chapter was that while I was being told by doctors, teachers, and other adults that I'd never reach the same level as my peers (I couldn't speak, read or write after I came round from the coma) I heard the Voice of God tell me that the mind is not only contained in the body, and that I had access to a universal, higher mind. Essentially His Mind. I may not be able to rebuild the parts of my brain that were damaged, but I could, in modern parlance, hook into the cloud and do my programming there.
He said adults weren't yet up to speed on this, but they'd get there eventually, and meanwhile I should be respectful and not tell them they don't know things, as adults don't respond well to kids saying such things.
So I did. Hooked into the mainstream. Tapped into The Cloud. Downloaded The Holy Spirit. Then this happened:
- My IQ went from 7 years below my peers to Mensa level.
- I became a spiritual healer, making use of the Holy Spirit to heal others from physical and later mental issues. I qualified in 2002, but the laws have changed since then so I need to clarify 'healed'.
Yes, miracles happened.
One that comes to mind is a woman with a leg due for amputation due to diabetic ulcers receiving what the hospital called a 'spontaneous healing' in only a few days that meant she kept her leg. But I did not do that. It was done THROUGH me.
Anyone who claims otherwise is a red flag. Those of us blessed with spiritual gifts aren't the ones doing the miracles. We may be 'miracle workers' but we're just working and the miracles happen through us.
Depending where you are in the world, I have to say this is just 'entertainment' or information. Take it however you want to take it.
Always refer to doctors and therapists as a first port of call. I'm not seeking to take the place of anyone. Just giving you context.
And at the time I qualified, the term was Spiritual Healer. Call me what you want, just don't call me late for dinner. - I became a pioneer, seeing a vision for both internet marketing and social media ridiculously early. When I first went online, only 2,000 computers were connected to the internet. When I built and monetised my first email list, it was 1995. I was one of the first 25 bloggers in the world, and I was instrumental in setting the stage for social media. I was also a magazine columnist for 6 years, and a bestselling indie author. Made a couple of albums too.
While doing all this, I also helped thousands of other Founders, Creators, Influencers, Authors, Therapists, and other independent-minded, passionate, visionary 'indiepreneurs' overcome their own hurdles, inspire their teams, discover their destinies, and build relationships with their customers and clients.
Then, in 2020, I caught the thing that many caught. Pioneering that one was not thrilling. The first wave was a truly horrifying and baffling strain.
Having left it too late to call an ambulance as I breathed my final pneumonia rattling breath, and no longer being able to breathe again, I said these words in my head:
Dear Lord God,
Make me a channel for Your Peace and Your Power.
Breathe Life into me,
That I may breathe Life into others,
That they may breathe Life into their dreams,
And manifest them on the planet,
By Thy Will.
In the next second, I could breathe.
So here at Indiepreneur Academy, we are guided by the 11th commandment as we define it, of which our favourite translation comes from 'the Book of Bill and Ted' should such a book exist, and it is:
"Be excellent to each other."
The Golden Rule.
- We are guided by the idea that life is a choose your own adventure game.
- We are guided by the idea that if you're an independent and creatively minded entrepreneurial person, there are no limits to what you can achieve, whether you're straight out of Yale or straight out of jail. And it isn't for us to judge who you were in the past. It is for us to help you now to breathe Life into who you WILL become.
- We believe that a beekeeper can be an asset to society, as long as they have their bees managed.
- We help people with superpowers gifted to them by trauma, to use their superpowers for good not evil.
- We believe that however excellent your business looks on the surface, if you are not being excellent to each other behind closed doors, it isn't really excellence. It isn't being the greatest. It's just being great. Don't you deserve to be your greatest self?
